About Project

Acorn Construction is very proud to have been asked to undertake extensive restoration work to this late Georgian home off Royal Hill in Greenwich during 2019 / 2020 during a Covid-disrupted programme.

The scope of the works included complete internal and external re-decoration of the property. Internally, we sanded & re-finished all the original timber flooring throughout the house. We carried out renovation works to the sash windows and internal shutters. The heating system was replaced with new traditional cast iron radiators. In all honesty, this turned out to be more problematic than expected, but we got there our clients asked us back to carry out further works including some re-roofing in 2021.

The basement required substantial damp-proofing works to the original external and internal walls, with all the associated replastering to restore the rooms. The kitchen and WC windows & doors were replaced with new ones manufactured by Greenwich Joinery. This was followed by the installation of new porcelain floor tiling and the fitting out of a very interesting new utility room and WC.

Externally, we replaced the front entrance walkway structure with a reclaimed York stone path at the front and laid a new limestone patio at the rear. During the works, we discovered an old well and an underground stream passing under the property.
