Major Extensions & Alterations at Southbrook Road in Lee, London, SE12

Acorn are proud to have been invited to carry out this project, involving the construction of a rear kitchen extension and a two storey side / rear infill extension and the complete refurbishment of the existing home.

The scope of the work included the removal of a substantial central chimney structure, which then enabled much of the other alterations work to proceed. As well as adding a large dining area; an additional reception room; an additional bedroom; and a new master ensuite, the project also involved relocating the existing family bathroom to create an improved bedroom facing the back garden rather than the neighbouring property.

The project was finished to a very good standard, with high quality finishes and components used throughout the fit out and redecoration of the whole house. The new steel structure in the kitchen diner was expressed and makes a striking contrast with the new facing brick walls left exposed in the dining area. An unknown existing cellar was found which was interesting converted to storage including an access hatch from the kitchen down into it.

We installed a new heating system including underfloor heating. We constructed beautiful built-in storage to the master bedroom, as well as to the new rear bedroom. Most of the ground floor was finished with oak herringbone flooring and the hall was completed with black & white Victorian floor tiling.
