Contemporary Rear & Side Extension at Tressillian Road in Brockley, London, SE4

Acorn recently completed this very interesting extension delivering a kitchen / dining room, a third reception room and a utility room to replace an old conservatory. The brief was for an elegant minimal contemporary extension with lots of glass and an exterior patio linking to a new landscaped garden. Acorn played a key part in coordinating the design detailing, working closely with several key partners including Northolt Glazing, Zenith Zinc and Designs In Resin.

The specification included wet underfloor heating to the extension and micro cement finishing to the interior floors and the exterior patio. The new steel structure was carefully coordinated with the requirements of the glass doors and structure, as well as catering for all the normally expected issues of working with a Victorian house!

The yellow stock brick theme was carried back into the extension by the use of brick slips applied to the party wall and the rear wall of the house. The dining room area is covered by a GRP warm deck roof, which also features an electrically opening flat roof light.

Acorn also carried out other works including a new full-length yellow stock brick garden wall, replacement external drainage and internal redecoration.
