This very interesting project included the removal of an existing partial loft & rear conservatory extension and the construction of a new 5M rear extension; a new full-width front extension/porch; and a large new loft bedroom and en-suite shower room. The entire house was stripped back to bare walls and refurbished, re-forming three double bedrooms, a refurbished bathroom, and a new WC.
Due to the nature of the sloping site and an awkwardly located public sewer running under the house, the new extension foundations were formed with a number of concrete-encased steel beams cantilevering over the sewer.
The existing first floor external walls were re-clad with yellow stock brick slips to match the new ground floor walls. Full-width bi-fold doors and a large raised deck were provided overlooking the sloping garden. We fitted a large Howdens kitchen with new and existing appliances. A complete new heating and hot water storage system was provided, including “wet” underfloor heating installed throughout the new and existing extended ground floor.
We built a stone-paved front patio with new brick walls and bin stores.
